After spending the last twenty years of our friendship talking about sci-fi books (and movies, and games) in summer 2021 we decided to give something back to the SF community. We wanted to help people wade through all the flotsam and find the best sci-fi books for them. Life is too short to read bad books.

When he's not being a Hugonaut, Brent Gaisford is working on brain-computer interfaces in a lab at UCLA or creating machine-learning models for small companies. He's also the co-founder of Abundant Housing LA, a YIMBY organization trying to end the housing crisis in Los Angeles. He also loves climbing mountains and spending time with his wife and their two dogs.

 

Cody Troyer is a Production and Post-Production Sound Mixer, vocalist and composer who loves gobbling up stories in any medium.  He enjoys hockey, kayaking, diving and gaming (MTG draft anyone?).  He lives in Denver, CO with his wife and two small pups.

Another big reason we started the show was as a way to meet other  sci-fi fans – so we’d love to hear from you! Let us know what you think of the show, if you’ve got any feedback, or if you’ve got a great book to recommend. We’re always looking for more great books to read!
